Frugal Birthday Party Ideas: the Teddy Bear Picnic

It is always hard to plan out a birthday party but even more difficult if you are on a tight budget.  There are many ways to save on your child's next birthday and make it look like you spent a fortune.

Your first step is to pick a theme.  Find out what your child is into.  If they have a collection of something, for example teddy bears, then why not have a teddy bear picnic.

Here is what to do:

1) Create invitations with teddy bears on them.

2) Ask each child attending to bring a teddy bear with them.

3) Figure out what you would like to serve at the picnic, pick your child's brain for this one.  It may be as simple as p.b. and j. with the crusts cut off .

4) Get a cake in the shape of a teddy bear.

5) Look for themed accessories for the party.  Or better yet, choose to use your child's favorite color.

6) You can use sheets to spread out on your lawn.  Or if you don't have a lawn, set up your picnic tables.

You can even use some of your child's teddy bears to decorate with.  This is a nice touch and adds a few extra friends to the party.

When you set the places, you can use the paper plates for the kids, then use some toy dishes for the bears place settings. Have fun with the theme.

How about a color party.  If your child has a favorite color for example, pink.  Then ask everyone attending to wear something pink.  It can be a ribbon in their hair, a pink shirt, what ever as long as they have a small amount of pink on them.

This helps keep things simple for you, you can then find everything in that particular color or in colors that will accent the favorite color.

Your best bet is to pick your child's brain.  Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to plan every thing out.
